Climate classification index (Koppen Geiger) in Pan-TPE (1986-2010)


The re-analyzed Köppen-Geiger map is provided with the higher resolution of 5 arc minutes using the downscaling algorithms described by Rubel et al. (2017). It is representative for the more recent 25-year period 1986-2010. Additionally, the colour table was optimized for the higher resolution resulting in a slightly different look of the map. Two data sets are provided: A Netcdf file together with a NCL-code for individual visualization.


Data file naming and use method

Koppen_Ptpe.nc include KG, lat, lon variables, KG indicates the climate classification, lat and lon indicate the coordinate information in grids. ncl_KG_1986-2010_5m.ncl is a NCL script for generating the Koppen_Ptpe.nc and KG_Ptpe.png. KG_Ptpe.png is a picture for viewing the dataset.
