Geochemical data of granites in Tanggula area of northern Tibet


The data in this paper are the whole rock major and trace elements, whole rock SR – nd – Pb – Hf isotope, zircon u – Pb age and HF – O isotope of the granite. Samples were collected from syenite and monzogranite in Tanggula area, northern Tibet. Radioisotope geochronology data were obtained by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and secondary ion probe analysis of zircon U-Pb isotopes. The major and trace geochemical data of the whole rock are obtained by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The whole rock SR – nd – Pb – HF isotopes were obtained by sample separation and purification multi receiver inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The HF-O isotopic geochemical data of zircons were obtained by laser ablation multiple acceptor plasma mass spectrometry. The age, origin and formation background of magmatism in the region can be defined by the data obtained. These new data, combined with the literature data, further confirm the syn collisional process of the Tanggula granitic batholith emplaced in the South North Qiangtang terrane. The enriched SR – nd – Pb – HF – O isotopic composition indicates that it is mainly derived from the partial melting of recycled superficial materials with the addition of mantle derived materials. This study shows that large-scale granitic magmatism can also be formed during syn collision.
